What Victor Vegas, One of NYFW’s Best Dressed Guys, Wore This Week

It’s the end of New York Fashion Week, and the vibrant street style scene certainly didn’t disappoint. Celebrities, editors and models all showed up on the catwalks and presentations in their best ensembles, whether they were stealth-chic or flamboyantly dressed. One of the best-dressed men was Victor Vegas, who stood out from the pack with his must-have houndstooth coats, patchwork jeans and braids.

Vegas is a true animated New York creation. The multi-hyphenated Indigenous model also plays for brands such as Awake NY and has her own streetwear brand, Primer Rebelde de America. With so many jobs in the fashion industry, it’s no surprise he has a killer personal style. “My fashion mood is inspired by the books I’ve read and the people I’ve researched,” Vegas says of her wardrobe, citing Grace Coddington, Marc Jacobs and Geronimo, the historic apache chief and healer, as muses.

This week, Vegas embraced its fashion signatures. His closet fuses elements of vintage and streetwear — it’s heavy with pieces from Awake NY and his own label, Primer — and the street style star says he’s experimented with combining textures and prints. “I wear a lot of vintage military gear, and of course my classic vegan Docs,” he says. Luckily, the warmer than usual weather over the weekend made it easy for her to get dressed and “[enjoy] the cool atmosphere of the city,” he says. Given her fashion mood’ is always New York,” his style regularly emphasizes “oversized suits and thick layers.”
