Let me remind you that India wasted over 68 million tonnes of food in 2019. About 30 percent of the food is wasted in the world, around 1.3 billion tonnes of food or about 30% of global production is lost or wasted every year. (FAO)

Food is the necessity for all living beings, people work day and night to earn a living and that of their families, even many have lost their lives for food working in different countries to earn bread and butter for their families . Life is not the same for everyone, and those who have the blessings (food) should share with those who have not eaten for days or weeks. Our little intelligence can make a big difference, we shouldn’t buy more than what we eat or what we need at home. items to reduce food waste.

Let me remind you that India wasted over 68 million tonnes of food in 2019. About 30 percent of the food is wasted in the world, around 1.3 billion tonnes of food or about 30% of global production is lost or wasted every year. (FAO). On the other hand, some people are even thirsty for food In Yemen, more than two million Yemeni children under the age of five do not have enough food to eat while more than 33% of the food (of worth $ 10.6 billion) is wasted in Saudi Arabia every year. However, “Prophet Muhammad SAW (pbuh)” stated that “it is not allowed to throw food in the trash, this is considered to be a disregard of the blessings of Allah Almighty and a failure to follow His orders. “. throw away food and drink scraps that can be used down the drain or put them in the trash. Leftover food should be saved for the next time or it should be given to the needy; if there is no needy, it should be given to the animals, even after it is dry. On the one hand we recognize ourselves as the most civilized but this is not true because we always order excess food in hotels and restaurants after consuming a small amount, we waste it which is neither allowed nor in any religion or by any society as well.
“Kashmiri Wazwan” is the most famous in all of Kashmir, but unfortunately it is wasted on a large scale due to over-cooking, as some extravagant people have introduced many other varieties of dishes to it that are sometimes served to people. without carrying bags then people have no option to let it go to waste Extra salads are often served at Kashmir weddings and wasted on a large scale Sad to mention that in our Kashmir we waste tons of food in weddings, we cook more than we eat and then throw it away or dump it in water bodies, causing water pollution as well as food waste.
There must be proper methodologies to tackle this situation in order to reduce food waste including making smart purchases, buying in small quantities, not buying in bulk, it looks like a conventional method, but research s ‘opposes it. . Keep the food in the refrigerator so that it can be used for days, also keep the food in opaque glass jars so that we forget to use it. Make vegetable pickles or dry them so they can be used for months. Make sure food products have expiration and manufacturing dates so that food does not go to waste. Also make food compost for the plants. As a Society, we must stand up against this stupid act. We have to stop this, otherwise our society might run out of food sources, which can pose a threat to humans.
