THANKSGIVING SERVICE: Mount Sinai Baptist Church, 328 S. Forest St, Youngstown, will host a Thanksgiving service Thursday at 10 am with Pastor George Wilkins. The guest speaker is Reverend D. Holmes of Christian Love Baptist Church on Shehy Street, Youngstown. The theme is “It’s time to say thank you to God. “

THANKSGIVING SERVICE: Thanksgiving Vienna community service will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Vienna, 4265 Warren Sharon Road. Pastors from the Vienna community will participate. There will also be a community choir performing during the service.

THANKSGIVING SERVICE: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on East Market Street in Warren is holding a thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

TURKEY CONTEST: The God’s Warehouse Pantry at New Life Church, 2250 E. Western Reserve Road, Poland, will have its Thanksgiving food distribution from 7:30 am to 11:30 am today. A total of 700 turkeys and 150 chickens will be distributed. The limit is one turkey per family. Those present are kindly requested to bring photo ID and to leave their safe empty for drive-through distribution.

ASSOCIATION OF CHURCHES: The Mahoning Valley Association of Churches invites the community to the Mayors Interfaith Hybrid Prayer Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. The event will be broadcast live by the Sacred Commons at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Youngstown. For over 40 years, MVAC has hosted this annual interfaith event for government officials and people of faith. At this year’s event, Struthers Mayor Catherine Cercone-Miller will speak about the influence of faith on her public service. Jason Volovar, Music Director of St. Joseph’s Parish in Austintown, will play inspiring music and interfaith leaders will offer prayers for the community. PRAYER OF APPRECIATION: Mount Gilead Baptist Church, 2821 Hillman Street, Youngstown, will host an Appreciation Prayer Lunch at 2 p.m. on December 4 for Rev. Clifford Kimbrough. STORY OF DAVID: Torah Studies for Christians and the Villa Maria Spirituality Center in Villa Maria, Pa., Will present “The True Story of David” 7 p.m. December 1 via Zoom as part of a virtual series. The Bible Education Series is an opportunity for Christians to reflect on the scriptures using video resources from various scholars. A voluntary offering will be accepted. CONTEST: Trinity Baptist Church, 235 Highland Ave., Warren, will host their annual Thanksgiving Giveaway today from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., where people will distribute frozen turkeys and all adornments to families already registered.

NOL IN TOWN: St Jude’s Roman Catholic Parish, 180 Seventh St. in Columbiana, will host a “Christmas in the city” event 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on November 27. Free entry. The event will feature local artisans, commercial vendors and home businesses. Event organizers will also be collecting new unwrapped toys for Toys For Tots.

CHURCH ON NORTH ROAD: Blessed Sacrament Parish, Reeves Road, Warren, will present “Christmas of the Northern Route” From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 4. It will include a pancake breakfast, hot chocolate bar, photos of Santa Claus, horse-drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo, a craft show, a cookie walk, a children’s craft shop and a nursery. A live nursery show presented by the students of the parish will begin at 1:30 p.m.

ADVENT PROGRAM: St. Columba’s Cathedral in downtown Youngstown will host its annual Festival of Lessons and Songs at 6 p.m. on November 28. The program will include readings and music by the Cathedral Choir under the direction of Music Director Dr. Dan Laginya. The program is free and open to the public.

YOUTH CELERATE: St. Christine Parish of Youngstown recently hosted youth and young adult ministry “You’ve been booed! “ Youth ministry day sponsored by the diocesan office for youth ministry and young adults. Led by Reverend Ryan Furlong and in collaboration with Sainte-Christine, Saint-Charles, Notre-Dame de Lourdes, Notre-Dame du Mont-Carmel and the Holy Family, the event included a pizza night, games and a project on duty. For the service project, the group created small gift bags for housebound people in parish communities. The gift bags included a rosary, guide, and prayer cards.

CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY: The Catholic Funeral Services and Cemeteries of the Diocese of Youngstown will offer the Rosary of Divine Mercy in all four cemeteries at 3:00 p.m. every Friday. The Rosary will be said alternately in cemeteries.

The first Friday of the month will be at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown; the second Friday at the Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown; the third Friday at All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta; and the fourth Friday at the Calvaire cemetery, Massillon.
